The revolutionary way to protect your vehicle for years

Your Vehicle Needs Extensive Protection In NJ

New Jersey weather can be harsh on the various surfaces of your vehicle, especially on the delicate paint. Protect your ride with a ceramic coating that will last through all 4 seasons, for years to come! Your car will stay cleaner for much longer and the process of washing will become super easy when you schedule a next-level hydrophobic Ceramic Coating appointment from Andrew's Automotive Detailing.

The main function of a ceramic coating applied to your vehicle by our experienced team is that harsh weather will never come in contact with your actual paintwork. By forming a molecular bond with your finish, the ceramic coatings cure over your clear coat or paint protection film, hardening it into an ultra-slick surface that keeps all types of solid and liquid contaminants from latching to your surface.

In doing so, a noteworthy byproduct of the coating is that your vehicle’s paintwork will be glossier in ways otherwise unattainable by uncoated finishes. From insane glossiness to showing off dimensional depth, ceramic coatings are a leader in paint protection and vehicle value increases.

What Is A Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coatings are a semi-permanent protectant, typically made of a liquid polymer that is cured and forms a hard, glass-like finish, that is applied to protect various surfaces of the vehicle lasting YEARS rather than months like a traditional wax or sealant. The coating acts as a barrier to prevent damage to the paint and other surfaces while making the paint look its best! The coating is essentially a barrier that is applied over the surfaces of the vehicle to preserve everything underneath while keeping a clean finish.

Why A Ceramic Coating?

  • Improved protection: A ceramic coating acts as an extra barrier to protect the paint and clear coat from damage caused by environmental factors such as UV rays, rain, dust, and bird droppings.

  • Enhanced shine: A ceramic coating gives the car a deeper, more vibrant shine that lasts longer than traditional waxing.

  • Easy maintenance: A ceramic coating makes maintenance easier as it reduces the need for frequent washing and waxing. Dirt and grime will not adhere as easily to the surface, making it easier to clean.

  • Increased resale value: A ceramic coating can increase the resale value of a car by maintaining its showroom appearance for longer.

  • Cost-effective: Although the initial cost of a ceramic coating may be higher, in the long run, it can save money as it reduces the need for frequent waxing and other maintenance.

Coatings We Offer

  • Paint & Glass Coatings are the most common type of coatings, which include all of the benefits described above.

  • Leather Coatings are applied to the surface of the leather forming a durable layer that helps protects against stains, fading, and cracking to extend its lifespan and maintain its appearance.

  • Trim Coatings are applied to plastic trim to prevent UV damage or to restore the faded plastic and add UV protection.

  • Wheel Coatings are made to withstand extreme temperatures and help make cleaning the dirtiest part of cars faster with better results. As a result of the slickness of ceramic coatings, the brake dust has a harder time sticking to the surface of the wheels and calipers after being coated.

  • Fabric Coatings can be applied to certain upholstery and convertible soft tops, protecting against UV damage, adding hydrophobic properties, and making clean-up easier.

Our Process

Wash & Paint Decontamination

The first step in preparing the vehicle for a ceramic coating is to complete a thorough wash and paint decontamination. This process starts with a deep cleaning of the wheels and tires using a dedicated cleaner and iron remover, along with various brushes to ensure we clean each part of the wheel. This is followed up with pressure washing all loose dirt off the vehicle to prepare for a hand wash with wax-stripping car shampoo and high-quality microfiber wash mitts. We then liberally spray an iron remover on all surfaces of the vehicle to remove any stuck-on contamination (such as brake dust and industrial fallout). This product reacts with iron by turning red/pink and dripping down off the car. The clay bar process is next which removes anything that is stuck on the paint that both washing and iron remover didn't remove. Paint can become rough over time from all of the grime that adheres to the surface over time so the clay bar removes the contaminants creating a smooth and clean surface.

Paint Correction/Polishing

The next step in preparing the vehicle for a ceramic coating is paint correction. This step is not necessary but is highly recommended to enhance the appearance of the vehicle. Paint correction is the process of removing imperfections from the paint by using a variety of different polishers, polisher pads, compounds, and polishes. Scratches, swirl marks, and holograms make the paint look dull and aged. Paint corrections are accomplished by using the polisher with the best pad and polish combo to remove a thin layer of the paint's clear coat, preserving as much as possible while being aggressive enough to remove the imperfections. This is typically the longest and most labor-intensive part of the service. For more info on paint corrections, click here.

Prep & Application

After we complete the paint correction process, we begin prepping the vehicle for the ceramic coating. All surfaces of the vehicle will be wiped down with a wax and grease remover (IPA wipe), removing any polishing residue and old wax, and giving the surface a clean slate with nothing on top preventing the coating from adhering properly. We use microfiber applicator pads to apply the ceramic coating to the vehicle by adding some coating to the pad, applying it to the surface in an up-and-down, back-and-forth motion, and waiting for the coating to flash (when the coating is ready to be leveled). Once the coating flashes, we use 300GSM microfiber towels (an initial, secondary, and final wipe towel) to buff off the excess coating and level it, ensuring that there are no high spots for each section that we coat. Once all parts of the vehicle are coated, we move onto the final touches (such as applying tire dressing and polishing exhaust tips).

Maintenance Guide
